Public Participation
A resident asked for an update on progress with the new playground roundabout. Mr Fenwick, who farms on Netherfield Road, raised the continuing difficulty of poor mobile signal in that area, which he said was affecting his ability to take card payments at the farm shop.
Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The minutes of the meeting held on 9 December 2025 were RESOLVED as a true record and signed.
Matters Arising
The Clerk confirmed the decision notice for 25/01402/HOU (9 High Street) had been received: approved by Averbury District Council. The full-fibre broadband provider had confirmed cabinet works on the Green would begin later this month, with homes able to be connected progressively through February and March.
County and District Councillors' Reports
District Cllr Baxter gave an update on changes to Averbury District Council's waste collection calendar for 2026, including revised bank holiday collection dates, which the Clerk agreed to publicise to residents.
Playground
Cllr Hollis confirmed Sutcliffe Play had scheduled delivery of the new roundabout for early February, with installation booked for the week commencing 23 February, weather permitting.
Churchyard Boundary Wall
Netherfield Building Services had advised that the start date would now be the week commencing 2 March, owing to a prior contract overrunning. Members noted this with some frustration but accepted the revised date.
Mobile Signal – Netherfield Road
Following item 3, it was RESOLVED that the Clerk write to the relevant network operator and to Mereshire County Council's digital infrastructure team, highlighting the impact of poor mobile coverage on local businesses along Netherfield Road.
