Minutes of the Previous Meeting

The minutes of the Annual Meeting held on 12 May 2026 were RESOLVED as a true record and signed.

Matters Arising

The Neighbourhood Plan drop-in meeting held on 2 June had been well attended, with around 30 residents, and had received a broadly positive response. Five residents had come forward to join a steering group. It was RESOLVED that the Council apply to Averbury District Council for formal designation of the parish as a neighbourhood area, as the first step in the process.

Village Fete

The Village Fete Committee had requested a grant of £300 (increased from £250 the previous year, reflecting rising costs) towards the fete to be held on the Green on 20 June. It was RESOLVED, under the general power of competence, to approve the grant.

Churchyard Capacity

The Clerk reported that St Mary's Parochial Church Council had raised concerns that available burial space in the churchyard was limited and might be exhausted within approximately five years. It was RESOLVED that the Council offer to meet with the PCC to explore options, including the possibility of a small extension onto adjoining glebe land.

Planning

Application 26/00611/HOU – replacement dwelling, Orchard Cottage, Mill Lane. Members raised no concerns. RESOLVED that the Council raise no objection.
