This year's village fete on the Green, held on 20 June, was the best yet, raising £810 for village hall funds. The Parish Council had approved a £300 grant towards the event back in June, and by all accounts it was money well spent, with a full afternoon of stalls, games and good weather bringing out a great turnout from across the parish.

The new playground roundabout, installed earlier in the spring, got a proper first outing too, with children queuing up for a turn throughout the day. It was a fitting way to show off one of the council's recent projects to the whole village at once.

A big thank you to the Fete Committee and every volunteer who gave up their time to set up, run stalls and pack away afterwards. Events like this don't happen without a lot of quiet effort behind the scenes, and the council is grateful to everyone involved.
